Sarin Abado is an international energy expert with experience in Central Asia, North Africa and the EU. She works at the Asian Development Bank’s Central and West Asia Department managing regional cooperation projects in the field of energy. Before joining ADB, Sarin worked for the Austrian Energy Regulatory Authority as its attaché in Brussels and closely followed the development of European energy policy and legislation in relation to energy infrastructure, security of supply, renewable energy and consumer protection. Between 2015-2017, Sarin was based in Algiers where she led an EU-funded project with the Algerian Ministry of Energy in the field of renewable energy and energy regulation. In her early career, Sarin worked as energy consultant in Almaty, Kazakhstan covering the regional electricity and gas sector. Sarin Abado is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University, SAIS in Washington D.C. with a specialization in economics and international energy policy and holds an MBA from Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.
