Shakhboz Akhmedov

Shakhboz Akhmedov was a Senior Research Fellow, Knowledge and Research Networking at the CAREC Institute. Prior to that, he was Head of the Knowledge, Projects and Resource Management unit and Resource Mobilization Coordinator at the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC), based in Almaty, Kazakhstan. He was also responsible for strategic development and partnerships. Before joining CAREC, he worked with the Regional Environmental Centre for Central and Eastern Europe (REC) and GIZ on project development and fundraising. He earned his Postgraduate Diploma in Organisational Leadership from Said Business School, University of Oxford, Master’s degree from the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy, Germany and Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Uzbekistan. His research interests include climate change, water and environment, regional cooperation and sustainable development. Shakhboz is passionate about promoting cooperation for better environment involving science, technology and innovation.
