Pramila Crivelli is an economist at ADB’s Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department specialized in applied econometrics, international trade policy, regional trade agreements, trade negotiations, rules or origin, and nontariff measures. Her current work focuses on trade agreements, aid for trade, the digital economy, and supporting the APEC regional forum. Prior to joining ADB in November 2020, Pramila was an assistant professor at the Goethe University Frankfurt leading the Chair of International Trade. Her work has been published in academic peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of International Economics and The World Economy. Widely experienced in providing capacity-building and advisory services to governments, public and private institutions, and trade negotiators, she served as an economic affairs officer at UNCTAD, a researcher at the European University Institute and the WTO, and consulted for various clients in Asia and Africa. In the area of rules of origin, inter alia, she provided intense assistance to the WTO Least Developed Countries Group and negotiators of the African Continental Free Trade Area during the Technical Working Group meetings on rules of origin. Pramila received her Ph.D. in economics from the University of Geneva.
