Senior Capacity Building Specialist

Mr. Mahmudov is an international trade expert with over 15 years of experience in trade negotiation, capacity building and management. He is currently the CAREC Institute’s Senior Capacity Building Specialist responsible for designing and delivering trade-related capacity building activities in support of the CAREC Program (ADB), utilizing expertise as a trade resource person to lead sessions in relevant events. Prior to joining the CAREC Institute, Mr. Mahmudov was the head of the Trade Division at the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a position developing trade policy and proposed recommendations, including regulatory policies and strategies to promote foreign trade and commerce, as well as worked closely with the CAREC Program’s trade related projects. He obtained his MA degree in international trade and economic cooperation from the Kyung Hee University (South Korea). He holds BA diploma in Economics from Karadeniz Technical University (Turkey).
