The Impact of COVID-19 Mobility Restrictions on Trade Facilitation at Borders in the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Region

Intro
Materials

The CPMM (CAREC Corridor Performance Measurement and Monitoring) methodology is designed to quantify, evaluate, and monitor the time and cost effectiveness of cross-border trade across the six CAREC corridors. Time and cost data from standardized forms are transmitted monthly, consolidated, analyzed, and then published.

At the 4th CAREC Institute Research Conference, four research papers were presented, each utilizing data freshly collected by ADB on trade facilitation points known as the CAREC Corridor Performance Measurement and Monitoring Data Base. ADB has managed this database for over a decade, accumulating sufficient data points at all border points. The objective of Session 5 is to discuss how this database can be leveraged to generate effective policy recommendations pertaining to trade facilitation.
