Road Asset Management and RAM System

What is Asset Management? All activities required to define and provide the agreed level of service in the most cost-effective manner for the present and future owners of the asset in a transparent and informed manner, Dr. Ian Greenwood defines it this way. In this workshop, Dr. Greenwood and other CAREC experts take on various important aspects of Road Asset Management (RAM) and associated information system for managing assets related to roads. Discussions focus on RAM, RAM system and the importance of data collection in overall management of road assets through dialogue and direct cooperation among experts and policymakers.

Like good wine, asset management takes time to mature, Dr. Greenwood says, who understands that implementing RAM takes time and provides a clear step by step guidance. Good RAM is a marathon, not a sprint, Dr. Greenwood doesn’t expect a quick result of RAM, but encourages to start out simple.
